Another of the projects completed during my Foundation year was an exploration in sculpture. I chose to use this media as I had yet to explore in it and I wanted to make the most of the course's freedom.
I was tasked with creating something that referenced the Constellations Exhibition at the Liverpool Tate by combining two themes that I picked up from it. I chose music and spectrums, wanting to represent Liverpool and its musical history. Taking a long piece of rolled out clay I cut a piano keys design along its length before rolling it into the twisted shape you see before painting with an array of vibrant colours and using white to write on names of bands which originates from Liverpool.
